Brent Cross Town’s first Co-Living Homes

July 29, 2025

Planning permission has now been granted to deliver Brent Cross Town’s first co-living homes (previously referred to as Plot 23).

Co-living is a housing option which offers affordable homes shared by a few adults who each have their own private bedroom and bathroom units and share an open space for eating and leisure amenities.

This new co-living building will provide 352 studios that have been designed by Assael Architecture and will be delivered by leading co-living developers, Halcyon Development Partners and DTZ Investors’ Folk Co-living Fund.

Amenities in the building will include workspace, external terraces, a wellness spa and a rooftop residents’ kitchen, and will be managed by popular co-living brand, Folk Co-living.  Residents will also benefit from the location of the building which is situated near the Brent Cross Town’s new high street, Merchant Street, and is adjacent to the centre of the town, Neighbourhood Square. It’ll also be a few minutes’ walk from Brent Cross West station, offering direct connections to St Pancras International in only 12 minutes.

The community is already taking shape following the completion of four residential buildings, with 3,000 people expected to move into Brent Cross Town by the end of the year.

Councillor Ross Houston, Barnet Council Cabinet Member for Homes and Regeneration, said: “Plans for our first co-living building at Brent Cross Town show our continued commitment to providing a range of housing options at our emerging neighbourhood, whilst shared-living also helps foster a sense of community amongst the people that live there.”

6,700 new homes are planned at Brent Cross Town and the mix of housing types being developed have been carefully planned to support different needs of residents across the borough, at different stages of their lives. This will also help to create a vibrant mixed-use community as the building will be neighboured by retirement living homes, Build-to-Rent, affordable housing, student accommodation and homes for private sale.
