Overview of the plans

Planning principles for the Brent Cross Cricklewood transformation.

We will be developing these pages over the spring to provide a library of approved applications and easy links to specific documents on the planning portal in relation to this programme.

Keeping you informed and included

There are many ways that we can keep you updated about the Brent Cross Cricklewood transformation and provide you with opportunities to have your say on proposals and the development as it progresses.

All planning applications can be viewed on the council’s planning portal. Alternatively, if you have a specific question relating to planning about the Brent Cross Cricklewood programme you can contact us via the attached form.

Outline planning permission

Outline planning permission is given around the general principles of how a site can be developed. This is given after a period of consultation with key stakeholders including residents and businesses who have a chance to have their say on the proposals.

Outline planning permission is granted subject to conditions requiring the subsequent approval of one or more ‘reserved matters’.

Reserved Matters Applications

A Reserved Matters Application (RMA) follows an outline planning permission. An RMA deals with some or all outstanding details of the outline application proposals including detailed design, appearance, means of access, landscaping, layout and scale.

Once an RMA is submitted there is also a period of consultation where residents and stakeholders can comment on the detail outlined in the submission.

Pre-commencement and other conditions

As part of the outline planning permission, and following RMA approvals, the planning authority may choose to request certain conditions are met or discharged prior to commencement, during, or prior to completion of works. These conditions ensure the development is delivered inline with the standards set by the authority.
