Works update

Work commenced: 20 January 2020 for 25 weeks.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 8am to 1pm

Contractors: Conway Aecom

Work includes:

  • Widening Cricklewood Lane to provide a dedicated left turn lane into Claremont Road.
  • Installation of new traffic signals and street lighting.
  • New footways and highway surfaces on the junction.

The eastern footway on Claremont Road and the southern footways of Cricklewood Lane at the junction with Lichfield Road have now been improved to accommodate the next phase of works to widen the junction.

In April 2020, works started on Cricklewood Lane between the Cricklewood Station entrance and Claremont Road to widen the junction, add new pedestrian crossings and an additional lane.

Temporary traffic signals are in operation to allow works to be undertaken on the carriageway. As we complete these works it will be necessary to temporarily close footpaths from time to time and divert pedestrians around the junction.

Clear signage and safe pedestrian crossing facilities will be provided. Bus stops may be temporarily closed to ensure that bus services can still operate as usual during the works.

TEMPORARY NOTICE

Please note, separate to these works, Cadent Gas is currently carrying out emergency works outside the B&Q entrance (at the junction with Oak Grove) on Cricklewood Lane.

The emergency works will be undertaken under an eastbound directional closure of Cricklewood Lane from the A5 Cricklewood Broadway to Claremont Road.

A road closure is now in place (as 4pm on the 14 April 2020) and the works are anticipated to take approximately 10 working days.
