LEARN ABOUT YOUR LOCAL LEGACY

September 26, 2025

Ever wondered how your local area used to look like a hundred years ago? Or how people used to live and work in the Brent Cross Cricklewood area? Join us on Thursday 9 October for a cosy evening where you can learn all about the history of your area.

Our archives expert from Barnet Council’s Heritage Development Officer, Hugh Petrie, will be taking us down memory lane and sharing a history presentation of Brent Cross Cricklewood. You will be able to see archive photos and videos, as well as learn some interesting historical milestones the area has seen. Following the presentation, we’ll be holding a series of short video interviews where you can get involved and share with us your favourite stories and memories of living here. You can also bring along with you any special old photos you would like to show with the group.

Whether you’ve lived in the area your whole life, or recently just moved here, this is a great opportunity to meet with other residents and learn interesting facts about the place you call home. Tea, coffee and biscuits be provided.

The evening session will run from 6pm to 8pm at the Visitor Pavilion, 145 Claremont Road, London, NW2 1FE. The event is free, and you can come along either with a group, partner or alone. Please let us know are coming by emailing us by Tuesday 7 October at transformingbx@barnet.gov.uk or you can inform one of the Visitor Pavilion hosts that you’ll be attending the event.

If you are unable to attend the evening session but would like to still get involved by sharing with us your favourite memories, please get in touch with us via email at transformingbx@barnet.gov.uk
