Works are currently taking place at the junction of Tilling Road and Claremont Road to deliver improvements to the highway in the area.

The works are an essential part of the wider Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme, increasing capacity on our roads, and making it much easier and safer for pedestrians to get around the area. Here is a layout proposal of how the junction will look like after completion.

More details about the works and schedule can be found below.

Work schedule

Works commenced: Monday 7 July 2025

Contractors: FM Conway

Work programme:

  • The works have been split in two phases to keep traffic flowing and to minimise disruption as much as possible.
  • The first phase of works includes junction widening, improvements to the footways and improvements to street lighting. These works will require part lane closures on Tilling Road and Claremont Road.
  • We’ve received feedback on traffic congestion caused by the four-way lights which were required for work to be undertaken safely. As works move into the next phase, traffic will now have three-way lights.
  • The second phase of works consists of road resurfacing and replacing road markings, which will be undertaken overnight for two weeks at the end of November 2025 and require a road closure.

Throughout the duration of the works, clear signage and safe pedestrian crossing facilities will be provided, as well as temporary traffic signals to keep traffic flowing. There is a traffic operator in place from 7am to 7pm everyday currently managing the traffic and signal timings.

Bus stops:

Some bus stops on Claremont Road and Tilling Road will be temporarily relocated close to their existing stop to ensure that bus services can still operate as usual.
