Relocated Homes
The Whitefield Estate and the residents that lived there are an important part of our ambitious Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme. As part of the changes happening in the area, we’ve purpose built new replacement homes within the development for these residents.
London and Quadrant (L&Q) were appointed to build and manage the new replacement homes on Brent Terrace for former residents of the low-rise buildings.
Related Argent has led the build of new replacement homes in Brent Cross Town for the Whitefield Estate residents formerly living in the high-rise towers.
These new replacement homes were the first to be completed across the programme and we are proud to have delivered high quality social housing and affordable homes early in the development.
To support the delivery of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration scheme, Barnet Council acquired several leasehold and freehold properties, alongside commercial premises, and approved the decision to relocate secure tenants and lease holders living in the Whitefield Estate. A formal Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) process took place, and residents have been supported by colleagues from Barnet Homes and Barnet Council. We also appointed a Resident Independent Advisor to ensure residents had access to advice and support from someone outside of the council.
The outline permission for the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme was first granted in 2010. The completion of the new Brent Terrace homes; and the completion of Brent Cross Town’s Conductor House (plot 12), marks an important milestone for the development of the area.
