Brent Cross Town Welcomes Its First Residents
March 6, 2025
Residents have officially begun moving into new neighbourhood Brent Cross Town with social housing amongst the first homes to be completed.
At Conductor House (previously known as Plot 12), 120 new homes have been built that will provide replacement social housing for the Whitefield Estate residents of Whychcote Point, Clare Point and Norden Point, as well as welcoming new residents into shared equity and London Living Rent homes.
Residents begun settling in their purpose-built 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes last month, with all moves expected to complete by the end of March. All homes have a private garden or balcony area, so residents have access to their own space, as well as a communal garden to enjoy with their neighbours.
Alongside The Delamarre, which provides the first homes for private sale at Brent Cross Town, almost 300 new residences have been completed as part of the first phase in the development of over 6,700 new homes in the area.
These moves are a major milestone for the ambitious Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme and marks a special moment for residents like Linda Graham who shared with us: “I’m absolutely over the moon with my new apartment! The open layout and three large windows that bring in so much natural light are just perfect. The specification is incredible, and it’s a huge step up from my previous flat, where I didn’t have much outdoor space. Now, I’ve got a large balcony with room for a table and chairs that overlooks the park.”
“Throughout the process, I was able to work with the team to add personal touches such as modifying and enhancing the bathroom, which were really important for me as I look ahead to later living. I can’t wait to play with my three grandchildren in the park and take my dogs for walks.” She added.
Providing affordable housing early on in the development, as well as high quality parks and open space, and improving transport connectivity with our new Brent Cross West station is an important part of our vision to ensure existing residents benefit from the transformation of the area.
Councillor Ross Houston, Deputy Leader of Barnet Council and Cabinet Member for Homes and Regeneration said: “I am delighted to see residents receiving the keys to these fantastic new properties and being amongst the first to call Brent Cross Town home. This is a huge moment for the development, which will bring much-needed new and improved social housing and affordable homes to the area alongside the growing mix of housing that will be delivered here.”
This milestone follows moves by residents living in the Whitefield Estate low-rise buildings, who relocated to new homes on nearby Brent Terrace last year as part of the Council’s wider regeneration programme. Both are being managed by L&Q and were delivered in partnership with Barnet Council and Barnet Homes who have supported residents throughout the process.
Brent Cross Town is a new £8 billion net-zero park town, which is being delivered by Barnet Council in partnership with Related Argent. Brent Cross Town will deliver 6,700 of the 7,500 new homes planned within the wider Brent Cross Cricklewood programme, with options including social housing, private sale homes, student accommodation, and homes built to rent.
