Spring in the Park

Brent Cross Town is packed with exciting activities and events for children and adults to enjoy during this spring break.

 

All activities and events are free, but some require booking. This programme runs until Thursday 17 April.

Workshops

Arts and Crafts
Community artist Anna Van der Poorten will be facilitating creative arts and crafts workshops for kids to enjoy at Claremont Park’s cabin. The kids will be busy making nature-inspired creations such as collages, floral designs, spring hats and masks. No booking is required. Here’s the schedule for the arts and crafts workshops:

Every day between Saturday 5 and Tuesday 8 April
Morning session from 11.30am to 1.30pm
Afternoon session from 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Nature workshop with Our Yard
Join us at Our Yard at Clitterhouse Farm (NW2 1AP) for a fun, hands-on experience where children of all ages will be making seed balls and bird feeders, as well as learn more about how they are environmentally friendly. No booking is required. The two workshops for this will take place on:

Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April from 2pm to 4pm

All-in-one skateboarding and photography workshop
Learn how to skate by Keep Rolling Project experts who’ll take you on an active day of skateboarding at Claremont Park, plus get you involved in a photography nature project. You’ll explore the outdoors and get creative with nature-themed photography all in one day. You must book your space.

Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 April from 10am to 3pm (sessions for 8-10 yrs)
Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 April from 10am to 3pm (sessions for 11-15 yrs)

Sports games

Beat the Goalie
Community club Brent Cross Football Academy will be holding a ‘beat the goalie’ session for children of all ages at Claremont Park. This will be a fun and sporty way to test your football skills and meet new friends. No booking is required but spaces will be running on a first come basis.
The sessions will take place on Wednesday 9 April and Thursday 10 April from 1pm to 4pm.

Pickleball
Pickleball is a fun and easy-to-learn sport for all ages. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, you’ll find us at the Exploratory Park. Paddles and pickleballs will be provided along with fully trained coaches. Both children and adults can join in the fun, so come along and give it a try! No booking is required.
The sessions will take place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 April between 10am and 2pm.

Claremont Park and The Exploratory Park offer playground areas, green space and basketball areas and equipment for everyone to use and enjoy every day.

Trails

Spring Nature Trail
Collect a Spring Trail map from the Visitor Pavilion and take part in the discovery trail to learn more about the trees in Clitterhouse Playing Fields. Unlock fun facts about some of the 80+ trees recently planted and unscramble the hidden letters you find on the way to claim your sweet treat back at the Visitor Pavilion.

Brent Cross Town’s Art Trail
Brent Cross Town has five bright and beautiful works across the neighbourhood which are a must-see! Why not explore them all with a free art trail. You can download the map here to start your journey and learn about each piece.

Yoga for adults by Nadia from N’Dazzle
Every Saturday morning, Brent Cross Town offers a rejuvenating yoga session at the Brent Cross Town Visitor Pavilion.
This month, classes will be taking place on Saturday 5, 12, 19 and 26 April from 8.30am to 10am. Booking is required, reserve your spot here.

Women’s Running Club
Whether you’re an experienced runner, or want to start running, this group meets outside Cricklewood Coffee Roasters at Claremont Way every Thursday, at 9.30am for an hour. No booking required, simply come along.

Yardbirds Choir
Join the Yardbirds choir who meet every Sunday at 4pm to 5.30pm during term time at the Visitor Pavilion. The choir is free to join and is a great way to meet and connect with new people. Please register your interest here before attending.

Enjoy a bite to eat or award-winning coffee
At Brent Cross Town, you have the choice of visiting the award-winning Cricklewood Coffee Roasters on Claremont Way, as well as Easter hot cross bun specials from Karma Bread Bakehouse. You can also try mouth-watering woodfired pizza from Happy Face Pizza, or a hot panini or ice cream from Gussy’s Ice Cream Parlour. Read more about this fantastic range of retailers here.

We encourage all our visitors to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible. Parking on nearby residential streets is not permitted and enforcement patrols are in place. Claremont Way car park is open daily from 7am to 8pm, and the Tilling Road Car Park is open from April to September, 7am to 7pm.
