Scouts Explore Brent Cross Town

June 13, 2025

At the beginning of the month, members of the 3rd Golders Green Scouts enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Brent Cross Town, where they learned about the area’s transformation and explored Claremont Park and Brent Cross West station.

Sometimes when Google Maps doesn’t work or isn’t up to date, you get your boots and set off to explore the area. Over twenty members of the 3rd Golders Green Scouts visited Brent Cross Town, most who either lived close by or were familiar with neighbourhood. During their visit, the cubs were welcomed by the knowledgeable Visitor Pavilion hosts, who showed them the 3D model of the development, followed by a presentation and video on what Brent Cross Town will look like in the future. The cubs were particularly interested in the town’s new green spaces and habitats for local wildlife, as well as plans for new homes, schools, a university, shops, and more.

The visit gave the scouts an opportunity to work on their local knowledge badge, as well as conservation, and navigator badges. The cubs had special access to the rooftop terrace of the Visitor Pavilion, which overlooks Claremont Park, Brent Cross West and the rest of the development.

The visit was a big hit with the cubs, including Zachery, aged 10 who said: “it was crazy to see how big changes can be done, especially over the next five years, I wonder how it will look in 2030”. Thorben, aged 9 added: “it was a fun visit; my favourite part was looking at the 3D model”. Anais, aged 8 also shared with us: “I really enjoyed the visit to Brent Cross Town and seeing how the site is developing.”

Scouts leader, Vijay Ramasamy, also known as Hathi, shared reflections with us: “For me, it was fascinating to see how this area will change over the next few years and how old unused land has been given new life and is making space for new infrastructure. It’s nice to see the positive impact that Claremont Park has on the area, for example. This visit gave us the opportunity to get out and be in the local community, and we look forward to returning soon.”

The Visitor Pavilion team were also impressed by the Scouts’ curiosity and enthusiasm, and each member was given a small badge of Brent Cross Town.
