Apprenticeships at Brent Cross Town
April 20, 2021
Are you a young person, looking for work, who wants to help build a new town in north London?
Because our partners Galldris are recruiting for apprentices to join their team as groundworkers on the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme.
Galldris is one of the UK’s leading construction companies, and currently has two groundwork apprenticeships available and four opportunities as part of the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which offers job placements to young people on the Brent Cross Town development scheme.
The apprenticeships give the opportunity to ‘learn while you earn’ in one of the key roles in the construction process.
Groundworkers are the first trade onto a construction and civil engineering site, and they work closely with supervisors and engineers in interpreting design specifications to prepare the site ready for the structural building works to take place. They continue their work throughout the construction, working with all on-site construction trades.
The role includes setting out and preparing the sub-surfaces ready for the structural work to begin, installing drainage systems, concreting, constructing roads and pathways, and carrying out the finished hard landscaping. No qualifications are needed, and Galldris will help the new recruits with the training and qualifying for their CSCS card. Applicants must be aged 18+.
