Award Win for Brent Cross West

May 24, 2024

Last week, Brent Cross West station won its first award at the prestigious Pineapple Awards 2024 in the category for ‘Infrastructure’. These awards celebrate  projects and places that make a positive social, environmental and economic impact.

Brent Cross West station opened on 10 December 2023 and has already made a huge positive change for the local community and people coming into Brent Cross Town. Almost 210k journeys have been taken in the first four months since opening, and thousands more making use of the new 24-hour public overbridge that connects two communities on different sides of the station, for the first time in 150 years.

The judges commented: “Infrastructure is at its best when it makes a wider impact beyond immediate and physical connections. Brent Cross West station acts as a model for future rail infrastructure projects by integrating the social, environmental and cultural aspects of the place into the project”.

The full shortlist of winners and more information can be found here.

The station has improved connections, encourages more sustainable journeys and makes it much easier for people to get around the area. Brent Cross West is the gateway to Brent Cross Town, the £8bn net zero park town that is being delivered in partnership between Barnet Council and Related Argent.
