Calling Mums and Daughters to Brent Cross Town

October 20, 2022

Mums and daughters are being supported, and encouraged, to spend #TimeTogther this half term, with fun free activities planned in the local area.

To coincide with a national research campaign, which ran in the summer with Women in Sport, women and girls in the area were asked what would encourage them to get active, and what would prevent them from participating in sport and wellbeing activities.

While nationally 60% of teenage girls aren’t getting enough physical activity to lead a healthy life, 48% of teenage girls surveyed said that their mothers encouraged them to exercise.

So, this month, Women in Sport is running its #TimeTogether campaign for the third year and hosted by our partners at Brent Cross Town, we’re supporting the campaign with a programme of free wellbeing events and activities. The programme has been put together following local feedback on what teenage girls said they would enjoy taking part in with their mum, aunt, grandmother or other mother figure in their life.

These events are suitable for all ability levels, no equipment is required, and free refreshments will be served after each event. All sessions have female instructors, and some have private rooms too.

All these events are free, but you need to book a space here.
