Young people aged 10-18 are invited to get creative this summer and take part in a free photography workshop that will give them the chance to learn new skills, explore their local area and showcase their work in a public exhibition.

Delivered in partnership with The Keep Rolling Project, the workshop will encourage young participants to celebrate and capture what local identity means to them through photography.

From favourite places and hidden gems to local landmarks, people and everyday details, young photographers will have the opportunity to tell the story of their community through their own unique perspective. Here are the workshop details:

Time: 10am to 1pm
Location: Visitor Pavilion, Brent Cross Town, NW2 1FE

The session will begin at Brent Cross Town’s Visitor Pavilion with a hands-on photography tutorial led by professional photographers, lasting approximately 45 minutes. Following this, the group will head out on a guided photography walk for just over an hour to capture images inspired by the theme “Celebrating Local Identity”. The group will then return to the Visitor Pavilion to share their photographs, discuss their experiences and reflect on what they learned during the session.

Participants will learn practical photography techniques while building confidence and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

Selected photographs will be displayed as a gallery at one of Brent Cross West Station’s waiting rooms, providing a platform for young people to celebrate the people, places and stories that shape the community. Participants, their families and local residents will also be invited to attend a community gallery launch event to celebrate the completed exhibition.
