Community Gallery Unveiled at Brent Cross West
November 3, 2026
On Saturday 31 October, the official launch of the Brent Cross West Community Gallery was held, celebrating a new space that shines a spotlight on local creativity and community stories.
The gallery’s first exhibition showcases a collection of photographs captured by talented young people from the local area during a photography workshop delivered by the Keep Rolling Project in Summer. Through their lenses, spectators can see the people, places and moments that make our neighbourhood special, offering a unique perspective on the community around us.
The launch event brought together the young participants, their families, Councillor Anne Clarke, and colleagues from Govia Thameslink Railway and Barnet Council to celebrate the occasion. Visitors enjoyed exploring the exhibition, hearing about the inspiration behind the photographs and seeing the finished gallery space come to life.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the gallery, creating a memorable moment for everyone involved and recognising the hard work and creativity of the young photographers whose work is now on display.
Councillor Anne Clarke, Cricklewood Ward Councillor and Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts & Sport, said: “I’m delighted to see this new community gallery space open at Brent Cross West. It’s a great community asset that celebrates the creativity, talent and diverse stories that make our area so special. I look forward to seeing the gallery continue to grow and evolve, with contributions from residents helping to shape this space for years to come.”
To add to the celebrations, guests took part in a fun spin-the-wheel game, with some lucky winners taking home train tickets and other prizes. There were also plenty of treats on offer, helping everyone get into the Halloween spirit.
The Brent Cross West Community Gallery is here to stay and will continue to showcase artwork and exhibitions that represent our community. Whether you’re passing through the station or making a special trip, we encourage you to stop by and take a look at the waiting room on Platform 2.
We’re also keen to hear your ideas for future exhibitions. If you have artwork, photography or a creative project you’d like to share, or suggestions for what you’d like to see displayed next, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at transformingbx@barnet.gov.uk
