Controlled Parking Zone: Live now
December 15, 2025
Today (Monday 15 December), marks the first day of operation for the area-wide experimental Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) which covers the Golders Green Estate and north of Clitterhouse Playing Fields.

As part of the wider Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme and to address parking issues in the area, Barnet Council has introduced parking controls on an experimental basis, which will be in operation between 9am to 6pm from Monday to Sunday. This means that anyone wanting to park along the roads during the hours of restriction will need to have a parking permit or visitor parking permit. The roads included in the CPZ areas are:
Zone BA extension (previously known as Zone BB): Claremont Road, Prayle Grove, Marble Drive, Wallcote Avenue and Amber Grove
Zone GG: Quantock Gardens, Cotswold Gardens, Cleveland Gardens, Grampian Gardens, Pennine Drive, Purbeck Drive, Cheviot Gardens, Cumbrian Gardens, Chiltern Gardens, Mendip Drive, Malvern Gardens
The controls are designed to prevent non-resident parking and have been determined by several factors including an initial public consultation run in March 2025 and parking stress surveys taken place in 2023 and 2024. You can find the full project background and details of the consultation on Engage Barnet for Zone BA extension and Zone GG.
Have your say
The scheme will be implemented experimentally for a period of up to eighteen months. During the first six months, Barnet Council will undertake a statutory consultation where officers will consider comments received from Monday 15 December 2025, assess the effectiveness of the parking controls, and make changes if required.
You can have your say by emailing transformingbx@barnet.gov.uk and quoting your zone (either ‘Experimental CPZ GG’ or ‘Experimental CPZ BA extension’). Alternatively, you can write to the Brent Cross Team, 4th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW. The closing date of receiving your views on the experimental scheme is Monday 15 June 2026.
If you still need to purchase a permit, you can apply online here.
