A new community space is opening at Brent Cross Town and we’re looking for an experienced operator to run it.

With nearly 1,000 homes due to be completed this year, alongside our new Neighbourhood Square and local retailers already providing fantastic food and beverage options, it’s an exciting time for the neighbourhood. There is no doubt the area is transforming, and we are passionate about ensuring our communities in Barnet benefit from the change happening in the area; and that everyone can access the opportunities this new development will bring.

Our vision for our first new community space is to create a welcoming, flexible space that provides activities and support for people living nearby and complements community activities already offered in the local area.

We received nearly 200 survey responses from residents on the types of events and activities they would like to see. Now, we’re looking for an experienced operator from the voluntary sector,  a community interest company and other relevant interested organisation to run this first dedicated community space, which is located on Merchant Street, opposite Conductor House, which saw the first residents to Brent Cross Town move in earlier in the year.

This space is one of several community-focused places planned to open in the future as the new town grows and is an exciting chance for you to be part of something new and a unique opportunity to help shape this space and the activities it provides from the beginning. You can read the summary operator brief and find out more about the opportunity here.

We’ll also be holding open days on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 August from 9.30am to 11.30am at Brent Cross Town’s Visitor Pavilion, 145 Claremont Road, London, NW2 1FE. You will have the opportunity to:

Brent Cross Town is a joint venture between Barnet Council and our development partner Related Argent. Together we are shaping a vibrant new neighbourhood for Barnet, which will see an additional 6,700 homes set around an office quarter and new high street of retailers and community infrastructure. The existing and new community will benefit from improved schools, leisure facilities and plenty of parks and open spaces.
