COVID-19 update

April 1, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic presents a worrying and challenging time. Barnet Council and its partners have been working hard to support residents, businesses and the communities they serve.

The Community Help Hub has been set up to provide non-medical help and support for people in the borough that are self-isolating or being shielded, and may not otherwise be able to get the things they need. The council has also set up a dedicated web page Barnet.gov.uk/covid19 to provide information, advice to support residents and businesses.

Across the programme our priority is to ensure the safety of our workforce and people that live close by. We are following government advice and instructions, making sure social distancing is observed, following guidance on hand washing and implementing additional cleaning regimes across sites and depots.

We have been working with our contractors to ensure these safety measures are put in place. In some cases, this has meant stopping work while the necessarily health and safety checks are carried out or where it is not appropriate to continue on site.

We will continue to carefully monitor the situation and follow government advice. Any changes to planned works programmes will be updated via the interactive map.
