Eid Celebration Wrap-up and Future Events
May 10, 2023
On Saturday 29 April, in collaboration with our Brent Cross Town partners Related Argent, we celebrated the first Eid event at Claremont Park. The park saw an impressive count of 385 children and 185 parents/guardians attend the event; we thank everyone who joined the celebration.
On the day, families enjoyed the afternoon sunshine and were surrounded with a range of free fun activities and entertainment for children.
Whilst Solid Steel played live background music, kids were taking part in Lantern making with Anna Van der Poorten, having their faces painted by Jojo and henna art by Henna Artisans. Social outdoor games were also facilitated by F.U.S.E Youth Project to get children active.
Local ward members Councillor Anne Clarke and Councillor Alan Schneiderman also attended the Eid celebrations.
Councillor Anne Clarke said: “It was great to join the Eid celebration in Claremont Park. Henna painting and colourful butterfly making were particularly popular with children while the adults enjoyed Cricklewood Coffee and Gussy’s Ice Cream!”
Councillor Alan Schneiderman added: “It was good to see so many people, young and old, having a great time at the Eid event in Claremont Park. We want all the community to make full use of the high-quality parks in Barnet.”
Throughout the day Claremont Park’s much-loved Gussy’s Ice Cream Parlour served many customers sweet baklava treats and a selection of ice creams and soft drinks. One Pan Noodles were also present and served delicious halal Pan-Asian noodle dishes.
