Highways improvement works to start
May 9, 2025
As part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme, works will be carried out at the junction of A5 Edgware Road and Geron Way from Monday 19 May, to deliver improvements to the highway in the area. These works are essential to allow the junction to operate more safely for all road users.
We expect the works to take up to five months to complete and have been split into two phases to keep traffic flowing.
The first phase of works includes widening the junction and improving footways and street lighting to address safety concerns raised to us by residents. We will also be adding a new pedestrian crossing at this junction to make it safer for people to cross this part of the road. The second phase of works consist of road resurfacing and replacing road markings. Before and throughout the duration of the works, clear signage and safe pedestrian crossing facilities will be provided, as well as temporary traffic signals.
To minimise disruption from works in the area, these highways improvements have been planned carefully so that they are completed before construction on the new Waste Transfer Station begins in the Autumn. More details on the new planned Waste Transfer Station can be found here.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the works, please email TransformingBX@Barnet.gov.uk
