Highways works begin on Cricklewood Lane
January 24, 2020
Conway Aecom has been appointed to carry out improvement works at the Claremont Road / Cricklewood Lane / Lichfield Road junction. Works began on Monday 20 January and will take place, as part of a phased programme of works, for up to 25 weeks.
The work will include widening Cricklewood Lane to provide a dedicated left turn lane into Claremont Road, the installation of new traffic signals and street lighting, and new footways and highway surfaces on the junction.
The new boundary wall at 1 Claremont Road has already been completed and the existing wall demolished, allowing the widening of the junction and foot way to start. Temporary traffic signals have been installed to allow works to be undertaken on the carriageway, works are being undertaken during off-peak times.
Improvements to key junctions in the Brent Cross Cricklewood development area will help to reduce congestion and delays on the roads, improving air quality and decreasing journey times. While improved cycling, and public transport will be improved as part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood programme, this work will also ensure roads and junctions can support the Brent Cross Cricklewood development as new homes and businesses are built in the future.
