Kosher supermarket opens in Brent Cross Town

September 2, 2021

Welcome to Kosher Outlet, the not-for-profit kosher supermarket which has opened in Brent Cross Town.

The 9,500 sq ft temporary supermarket is located in the car park of the vacant Toys R Us site on Tilling Road.

A not-for-profit business, Kosher Outlet supplies a wide variety of goods at cost price to consumers, including groceries, toiletries, household and baby products, meat and poultry. And from its new home in Brent Cross Town the supermarket will continue to provide an important local amenity to over 1,800 families in the local area, ensuring that benefits to the local community are felt from the very beginning of new town’s development.

Barnet has the highest percentage of the Jewish population out of any London borough, approximately 20% of the total UK population, with the ward of Golders Green, in which the Brent Cross Town regeneration sits, being approximately 35% Jewish.

The business has relocated to its new home after leaving its former premises in Pentavia Village, Edgware.

Councillor Daniel Thomas, Leader of Barnet Council said: “This is another positive addition to Brent Cross Town, which will be welcomed by our current residents as much as it will be by people moving to our new park town.

“The Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme has always sought to bring a wide range of benefits to our communities. I hope that Kosher Outlet will thrive at their new home.”

Nick Searl, Partner of Argent Related, said: “From the inception of Brent Cross Town we committed to support organisations and initiatives that reflect the ambitions of the new town centre to be an inclusive, people-first place in which all communities can flourish.

“Kosher Outlet is a valued member of North London’s Jewish community and we are pleased to have helped them find a suitable new home so they can continue to serve their customers in the local area.”

Marc Lerner, at Kosher Outlet added: “We are looking forward to opening our temporary new store in Brent Cross Town and are delighted to have had the support from Argent Related so we can continue to provide an essential service for our community.

“This part of North London is about to under a great transformation, and we are excited to be part of the development as it evolves.”
