New Office Building Plans Revealed

February 20, 2023

Plans for a new office building (referred to as Plot 19) at Brent Cross Town have been revealed and a public consultation is open from Monday 20 February to Sunday 5 March 2023.

Architects Bennetts Associates has designed Plot 19, which will be in the Brent Cross Town office district, in the Station Quarter next to Brent Cross West station.

The design for Plot 19 will create a unique and sustainable place for office workers, as well as provide retail space to be enjoyed by those who live close by, work in or visit Brent Cross Town.

About Plot 19

The nine-floor building will have a rooftop terrace for office workers. The retail space will be on the ground floor. While the retail operators will be decided in the future, the team at Brent Cross Town is committed to finding the right fit for the community.

Plot 19 will contribute to Brent Cross Town’s 2030 net zero carbon target by being built mostly with timber to reduce carbon emissions, while solar panels will be fitted to the rooftop and the building will be run using sustainable heating and cooling systems.

It is also expected to provide up to 500 construction job opportunities, with a commitment across the regeneration scheme to ensure at least 20% of the workforce are from Barnet, Brent and Camden.  Once completed, the new development at Plot 19 is anticipated to support around 850 operational jobs, both through the office space created and the new retail offering.

Have your say?

A public consultation will run from Monday 20 February to Sunday 5 March 2023.

Outline planning permission has already been granted for Brent Cross Town, including Plot 19, as part of the wider Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration scheme. However, the team is now asking for feedback on the detailed design proposals before submitting a Reserved Matters Application (RMA) to Barnet Council.

You can share your feedback by emailing community@brentcrosstown.co.uk or calling 020 3617 6359 to speak to Jordan or Che.

Public exhibitions

There will also be two public exhibitions where you can see and discuss the plans for Plot 19. Both exhibitions will be held at The Visitor Pavilion on Claremont Road, NW2 1FE

  • Sunday 26 February 11am – 3pm
  • Wednesday 1 March 4pm – 7pm

What happens next?

Following this exhibition, the project team will take time to consider your feedback as they progress the final designs for this new building.

Once feedback has been reviewed, the team will begin preparing a Reserved Matters Application (RMA). This RMA will be submitted to Barnet Council’s planning department in spring of this year.

Once the RMA has been submitted, Barnet Council will then conduct a statutory consultation, during which you will be able to submit comments directly to the council for consideration in their determination of the application.
