Local charities and community organisations have just one week left to apply for their share of this year’s Brent Cross Town Community Fund. 

Each year Brent Cross Town, the 180-acre new town centre regeneration project in North London, helps a wide selection of good causes from the area, with grants of between £500-£5,000. 

But the closing date for applications is Thursday 15 July, with funds expected to be awarded by early August 2021.  

The fund is targeted at groups and initiatives based in and around Childs Hill, Golders Green and West Hendon, which have new ideas or existing projects that boost local wellbeing and celebrate the community.  

Those eligible to apply for the grant include:   

• Informal and formal community groups  
• Local charities and local branches of national charities   
• Schools and educational organisations  
• Not-for-profit organisations  
• Social enterprises  

This is the third year of the fund, with £55,000 being shared between 18 community groups to date. This year’s Community Fund is targeted at initiatives that create flourishing communities and that reflect the ambition for the new town centre to be an inclusive, people-first place which strives to be healthy and sustainable. The fund will prioritise entries that support its key themes of Outdoors and Active, Mental and Physical Wellbeing, and Community Togetherness.

The fund is being delivered by Semble, an independent organisation which will manage the grant process. Community organisations will be able to apply for the Brent Cross Town Community Fund through Semble’s newly launched funding platform, Action Funder. The platform allows community groups to apply for funding with written or video pitches, making it easier than ever to apply.
