Safer Neighbourhood Team visits Brent Cross Town
June 20, 2025
On Sunday 25 May, the Cricklewood Safer Neighbourhoods Team hosted an event at Claremont Park where they met over 100 residents, who were able to ask questions, share concerns and learn more about how to keep their community safe.
The team set up an information stall with leaflets and police equipment and brought along a police van which was popular and drew the attention of families and children. Children in particular had an enjoyable time trying on police uniforms and exploring the van, making it a memorable day for them. Throughout the day, officers walked around the park and had friendly conversations with residents to understand their experiences living in the neighbourhood.
Officers also handed out leaflets to help raise awareness of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), and spoke with attendees about how to recognise signs of abuse, where to seek help, and how to support those affected.
Residents were encouraged to share any concerns or questions they had, and many praised the team’s approachable and supportive presence.
Cricklewood Safer Neighbourhoods Team officer, Nathan Owens, said: “It was a very enjoyable day for myself and the Cricklewood Safer Neighbourhoods Team. It was great for us to engage with local residents and children and to talk to them about policing issues in the area and to teach children more about policing and staying safe”.
Brent Cross Town Security Manager, Abraham Adewusi, added: “We all have a role to play in keeping our neighbourhood safe, and having the Cricklewood Safety Neighbourhood Team here at Brent Cross Town, meant that residents can feel reassured that we’re working together in creating a safe place for everyone to enjoy.”
