Take part in The Play Offs
August 22, 2025
Did you know that Brent Cross Town is hosting the UK’s first ever free competitive socialising weekend, called The Play-Offs? You’re invited to spend an energetic weekend on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September taking part in sport and play activities.
The Play-Offs are all about being active and trying something new, and this particular weekend will feature an exciting mix of challenges designed to test your skills, speed and teamwork. Each activity will have its own unique test of skills and coordination, including climbing walls, high ropes, baseball, bungee runs, and more! There will also be a leaderboard to track teams and prizes up for grabs. Activities are open to everyone above the age of 16, so whether you’re a sports enthusiast or someone up for a fun experience, we invite you and your teammates to join.
Places are limited and you must register your team here to be the first to know when tickets go live (your team can either be two or four people). All activities will be taking place from 10am to 6pm across both days at the Exploratory Park and Claremont Park, NW2 1FE.
World Chase Tag
If you’re up for a more adventurous challenge, you can test your parkour and tag skills against friends and professional athletes in the main event of the weekend, World Chase Tag. Chase Tag is one of the newest sports trending globally that is a mix of parkour and a classic game of tag, and is played by athletes, stunt performers, and Ninja Warrior champions.
You can already play and practice this activity in free sessions guided by professional Chase Tag coaches as part of Brent Cross Town’s Summer in the Park programme. This is a great way to help build your confidence and learn techniques to challenge professional athletes, friends and other participants.
Throughout the September weekend, you can also watch professional athletes compete live in the European Championship qualifiers. This will bring and feature some of the best teams from around the world, including world Champions and Hollywood Freerunners from LA performing fast reflexes and jaw-dropping moves.
Councillor Anne Clarke, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts & Sport, said: “Encouraging sport and play amongst people of all ages and abilities can have a huge positive impact on their health and wellbeing. At Brent Cross Town, there is a whole host of activities taking place this summer to get outdoors and try something new, including the increasingly popular Chase Tag, which comes to Barnet for the first time this year alongside the opportunity to get involved in the borough’s first ever competitive socialising event – why not get a team together and have fun participating!”
Morwenna Hall, Executive Director at Related Argent, added: “We would like The Play-Offs to be a new annual highlight in north London and truly reflect our vision for Brent Cross Town as the destination in London for sport and play. We are transforming 44 acres of playing fields here, creating spaces where residents, visitors, and office workers can enjoy a dynamic mix of traditional sports like football and basketball, as well as innovative activities such as parkour and bouldering.”
