Traineeship opportunity at Brent Cross Town
July 18, 2024
Are you interested in a career opportunity in architecture? Brent Cross Town is partnering with Build the Way, which is a newly developed nine-month architecture traineeship for young, local residents aged 18 to 25.
There are nine places available in total and Brent Cross Town will be supporting one traineeship which will be offered to a young person living in Barnet.
The Build The Way programme will run from October 2024 to June 2025, and provide workplace experience at one of the four architecture practices involved in the programme: HUT, GPAD, Morrow + Lorraine and shedkm. The Brent Cross Town traineeship will be placed with shedkm, who are the architects leading on the Brent Cross Town’s first office building, 3 Copper Square.
By the end of the 9 months programme, trainees will have learnt key professional experience and employable skills, as well as an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an architectural portfolio, technical training, and key industry connections. There is no previous experience required to apply, and trainees will be paid London Living Wage.
The application deadline is Sunday 11 August and if your application is successful, interviews will take place during the second week of August. Apply here.
About Build The Way
Established in 2021, Build The Way seeks to provide alternative routes into the architecture industry for young people and to diversify the profession to ensure cities are designed by those who live in them. To date, Build The Way is successfully supporting three trainees at three separate workplaces, and the programme is now seeking wider industry support. The programme is supported and led by volunteers from across four of the largest architecture organisations in the UK (mentioned above) HUT, GPAD, Morrow + Lorraine and shedkm.
