Geron Way

As part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme, works will be carried out at the junction of A5 Edgware Road and Geron Way to deliver improvements to the highway in the area.

The works include widening the junction and improving footways and street lighting to address safety concerns raised to us by residents. We will also be adding a new pedestrian crossing at this junction to make it safer for people to cross this part of the road.

To minimise disruption from works in the area these highways improvements have been planned so they are completed before construction on the new Waste Transfer Station begins. We expect works could start in the Autumn. For more details on the new planned Waste Transfer Station visit the project page here.

Work schedule

Work commences: Monday 19 May 2025

Contractors: FM Conway

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Fridays between 8am to 6pm and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
  • Occasionally we will need to undertake overnight works between 8pm and 5am. Residents will be notified in advance.

We expect the works to take up to five months to complete and have been split into two phases to keep traffic flowing and minimise any disruption. Clear signage and safe pedestrian crossing facilities will always be provided as well as temporary traffic signals.

Work includes:

  • The first phase of works includes widening the junction and improving footways and street lighting. This will require lane closures on the A5 Edgware Road and a northbound direction closure of Geron Way.
  • The second phase of works consist of road resurfacing and replacing road markings on Edgware Road and Geron Way. These works will be undertaken overnight, for one week at the beginning of September 2025 and require a road closure. We will send letters to residents and business owners who may be affected at least two weeks before the next phase of works take place.
  • Humber Road (SC) bus stop will be temporarily relocated to approximately 100 metres south of the existing stop, to ensure that bus services can still operate as usual during the works.
  • To facilitate drainage improvements and the resurfacing of the road we will need to temporary close the road, a diversion route will be clearly signed.
