Ukulele Fun at Brent Cross Town

October 25, 2023

Brent Cross Town kicked off the month with a fun ukulele workshop for over-55s hosted by the London Ukulele Project. The event was free and took place in the Visitor Pavilion at Brent Cross Town.

This event was hosted as part of Silver Week (a celebration for older people to meet others) and Age UK Barnet. This London Ukulele Project uses music to bring people together, overcome loneliness, and promote wellbeing. The organisers brought 40 ukuleles for the first session, which was on Monday 2 October, for participants to try out. Participants enjoyed singing along to timeless classics, and the London Ukulele Project taught them how to play the instrument to plenty of songs.

The session was followed by delicious free cakes and tea for people to enjoy and meet with one another.

The event was very popular, and many participants asked for it to become a regular occurrence. This is something which Brent Cross Town are looking forward to doing and we’ll share with you updates as soon as we can.
