Your local co-op is now open

November 25, 2025

Last week, Co-op officially launched at Brent Cross Town, and is now open every day from 7am to 11pm.

The opening morning saw residents, school children, visitors and people working at Brent Cross Town take part in the celebration which included live music entertainment, goody bags and other freebies. At 10am a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, bringing together the new Co-op team as well as local school children from Claremont Primary School who cut the ribbon.

The 3,000 sq ft store is the first retailer on Neighbourhood Square, which is a public space that opened last month and sits at the heart of Brent Cross Town. Co-op is serving over 1,000 people who currently call Brent Cross Town home, and this will only increase as the community continues to grow.

As well as having a refrigeration system to reduce carbon footprint, there is an in-store recycling point that makes it easier for residents to recycle soft plastics such as crisp packets, food pouches and lids from ready meals. Additionally, surplus food will be donated to Claremont Primary School’s Community Foodbank, with a £250 donation also made as part of the store’s launch day celebrations.

The store has created 15 new jobs which is in line with Brent Cross Town’s commitment to social value and is just one of the ways in which the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme aims to ensure that residents benefit first from amenities introduced as part of the regeneration programme.

Mohamed Mahrood, Co-op Store Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to launch Co-op’s newest store in Brent Cross Town, and proud to be the first grocery retailer to join the development. The store looks fantastic. We have a focus on being a hub locally, delivering the quality, choice, value and added services which can be enjoyed by everyone in this exciting, diverse and vibrant community. Charmaine Rees, Senior Retail Asset Manager at Related Argent, added: “This opening embodies our shared commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community, ensuring residents have access to quality food and services close to home. It marks a fantastic milestone in our ongoing retail strategy and is the first of many new shops and restaurants that will make North London’s newest high street a vibrant destination.”

As well as everyday essentials, you can have your items home delivered by Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats and there will soon be a parcel collection service available via an InPost Locker.
