Celebrate Brent Cross West’s Anniversary

November 21, 2024

Can you believe it’s been almost a year since our award-winning Brent Cross West station first opened its doors? Join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone on Tuesday 10 December.

Whether you’re a daily commuter or just stopping by, we invite you to be a part of our anniversary celebration from 4pm to 6pm on the station concourse.

We’ll be marking the occasion with a delicious celebratory cake, which will be cut and shared around 5pm, alongside refreshments for you to enjoy while they last. This will also be a great opportunity to catch up with or meet other friendly residents who are living in your area.

There will also be music, family-friendly activities and games with prizes to be won courtesy of our colleagues at Govia Thameslink Railway.

This event is open for everyone to attend and celebrate together – why not bring your friends, families or neighbours along with you to. Please RSVP at transformingbx@barnet.gov.uk

Protect your valuables for free

Barnet Council’s Community Safety Team will also be hosting a pop-up hub where you can speak to the team about issues affecting your area, as well as register your tech via a secure online property marking/recording service. This means that you can have personal belongings such as phones, laptops and tablets logged, making it easier to track and be reunited with if they are lost or stolen.

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s ideal for any tech gifts that you’ve bought for loved ones. More details on the service can be read here.

Have you visited Brent Cross West yet?

Brent Cross West station opened its doors on Sunday 10 December 2023. Barnet Council proudly led the project as one of the first local authorities in England to deliver a rail infrastructure program.

Since opening over half a million trips made this year to and from the station.

Brent Cross West is the gateway to new neighbourhood Brent Cross Town. In future, the neighbourhood will provide 6,700 new homes, create 25,000 jobs, and provide retail, leisure and community facilities. You can now reach it in just 12 minutes from central London thanks to Brent Cross West. If you’re still yet to visit the station, why not check it out on your way to exploring Brent Cross Town’s new parks and retailers.

There’s more to celebrate

Over the past year, Brent Cross West has become an award-winning station, having won the New London Awards 2024 in the ‘Transport & Infrastructure’ category; which is supported by the Mayor of London and celebrates excellence in architecture, planning and developments in London. The station has also won the London Construction Awards 2024 in two categories, Excellence in Community Engagement and Project Team of the Year. The station also won a Pineapples 2024 Awards in the ‘Infrastructure’ category, which celebrates projects and places that make a positive social, environmental and economic impact. These awards are in addition to the plenty of others the station has been shortlisted for in 2024.
