Local Pizza Joint Opens Again

October 12, 2023

Last week, local pizza restaurant Happy Face Pizza opened their doors again after being closed over the summer.

Happy Face Pizza which has branches in King’s Cross and Victoria, has been a great addition to Claremont Way retailers. The restaurant serves mouth-watering authentic pizzas, hand-made with a signature 72-hour fermented dough.

To celebrate their re-opening, Happy Face Pizza gave customers 50% off their bills during the opening weekend. Many of the customers were local residents who were able to enjoy their pizza meals at an affordable price.

You can read their menu here. Gluten-free and vegan options are available.

Location and opening times

The restaurant address is 9 Claremont Way, Brent Cross Town, London NW2 1AJ

The opening hours are Friday to Saturday from 12pm to 9pm. On Sundays, they are also open from 12pm to 8pm. More details can be found on their website here.

The Happy Face Pizza re-opening completes the Claremont Way local retailers which includes:

Cricklewood Coffee Roasters

Award-winning brews Cricklewood Coffee Roasters has recently officially joined Claremont Way. Local resident and founder of Cricklewood Coffee, James Colbourne, started from serving coffee both online and from a cart in front of Cricklewood Station, to now opening a new roastery with indoor and outdoor seating. Whether it’s for your morning coffee run or if you want a hot drink when walking around the area, Cricklewood Coffee serves just that.

The roastery is open weekdays from 7:30am to 3pm and weekends 8am to 3pm.

Karma Bread Bakehouse

Bringing home-baked fresh goods to the area is Karma Bread Bakehouse, the brainchild of baker Tami Isaacs Pearce; known lovingly by her existing customers in Hampstead, as The Challah Queen.

Karma Bread Bakehouse offers delicious, naturally handcrafted bakes influenced by New York delis, Middle Eastern Street food through to traditional Jewish recipes. Why not pop by for breakfast or lunch, weekly loaf, daily cup or a little treat.

Karma Bread Bakehouse is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 4pm.

Spruce & Larch

Café and eatery Spruce & Larch can be found inside the Visitor Pavilion and is one of the very first new businesses at Brent Cross Town welcoming and serving the community.

The locally run café serves delicious coffee, fresh pastries and sandwiches and has a collection of houseplants for sale in keeping with being environmentally friendly. You can also bring your furry friend as it is dog friendly, much to the delight of those that work there.

Spruce & Larch is open every day from 9am to 5pm.

Gussy’s Ice cream parlour

Outside of Claremont Way, at the heart of Claremont Park you will find the popular family-run parlour Gussy’s Ice cream parlour. Gus and his family are well known for their ice-cream in the Northwest London community, especially since Gus took over the family business and has been selling ice cream from his own ice cream van for more than 35 years.

Gus and his family were chosen to run the kiosk after a competition was hosted by Brent Cross Town to find a local business to operate from the park when it opened in June. As well as ice cream, Gussy’s also serves hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and hot paninis in the winter season.

The parlour is open Tuesday to Friday from 3.15pm to 5.30pm and weekends 12 pm to 5.30pm. During half term it is open every day 12pm to 5.30pm and serve a range of delicious ice cream, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and hot paninis. Click here for updated timings.
